Each student in the Central Public Schools District has a point-of-sale cafeteria account in which participation is voluntary for lunch and/or breakfast. Students may bring their lunch from home if desired. Parents/guardians should deposit money in advance on their student’s or family account on a regular basis, if their students are regularly eating in the cafeteria. Payments in the form of cash or check can be made in any building office, the student’s classroom, the cafeteria, or through Infinite Campus. The “charging” of ala carte items is not allowed if the student’s lunch account is negative. When the student’s lunch account reaches this point, they can only pay for ala carte items if they have cash. Once the account is no longer negative, they can again charge ala carte items on the lunch account. Parents can find out their student’s lunch account balance by signing up through Infinite Campus. Once a week a notification will automatically be generated through Infinite Campus to alert them if the lunch account is $20.00 or less. If the account is over $20.00, then they will not receive the low balance notification. Applications for reduced or free meals for students can be obtained from any building office at any time. If a student leaves the school district and has a positive balance in the account, the parents need to contact the food service director for a refund. The account balance will be verified and an address for where to mail the refund will be verified as well. The District Office will then send a check for the amount in the account.
