Taher, Inc. welcomes you to the 2020-2021 school year! We are excited to be starting our fourth year serving the students and families of Regents School of Austin. Given the ever-changing challenges surrounding COVID-19 we want to ensure you that student and employee safety is our number one priority. Every aspect of the dining experience has been under review to ensure all participants are safe during the entire meal service. We have specific procedures and protocols designed to allow for adequate social distancing elimination of common touch points, proper hand sanitizing and adherence to COVID-19 requirements for meal preparation, serving, cleanup and disinfecting. Our staff will be wearing masks and gloves at all times when in the kitchen and serving areas and have completed required training classes on COVID related safety protocols. We will begin the school serving all meals in closed compartmentalized containers rather than students serving themselves from the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Bar. While it may look different this year we want to ensure you that the same made from scratch meals are being offered. We look forward to serving the Regents community this school year.

What is a Plant-Based Diet?

There are so many new plant-based products on our grocery store shelves and in our restaurants. That must mean its healthy or something to try, right? But what does a plant-based diet consist of? It’s pretty simple, the focus is on eating foods that are primarily from plants: fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, oils, whole grains, legumes and beans. It doesn’t mean you are vegetarian or vegan and never eat meat, eggs or dairy. It means you are making the choice to eat more foods from a plant source rather than an animal.
